- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Autumn -- Great start to a new series : Brigid Kemmerer is such a great writer. Her characters are so relatable, they react to situations like a normal person would. That is what I really appreciate about her work. I absolutely loved Tessa as our lead, our heroine. She was such a strong heroine. She had such hope and love for the people she helped care for. I am a sucker for anything Robin Hood esque so this story where they stole from the rich to help the poor made my heart happy. Wes, Corrick, Quint, oh my word i loved each one of them in such different ways. Quint was such a great character, with his ever present notebook full of scribbles. His knowledge of everything and everyone. Our king and Prince brother duo were so complex and ultimately they were just trying to survive and do the best they could. Wes, our dashing outlaw obviously was a great time. Just i cannot wait for the next one. I should not have read this one without the next being out. But I will impatiently wait for our next installment. And I will continue to read anything that Brigid publishes. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2021 )
